I have been obsessed with interior design since I was a young teenager, but my interest really spiked in college. I was getting closer to finally having my own place and I felt the possibilities were endless of how to decorate it. Those endless possibilities shortly shrunk into a few possibilities once I came back to reality and realized I was living on a college student's budget. Places like IKEA and Goodwill were my best bet to fill up my apartment, however, I still enjoyed the entire design process. I loved reading books and magazines about interior decorating so I could use expert tips and advice on getting as close to the look I desired as possible, while still having enough money to eat.
Looking through the photos of homes, apartments, and offices I collect on Houzz, Pinterest, and Polyvore, I have come to realize just how much I love natural accents. I'm always looking for jewel tones, metallics, neutral colors, maybe some type of sheepskin, and most definitely, marble and wood. You don't need marble countertops and hardwood floors to enjoy these two popular details because you can find them in so many different forms now and they work in almost any room. Here are some of my favorite marble and wood pieces from CB2 and Anthropologie, two great places to shop for home decor.

Before buying anything from places like CB2 and Anthropologie, I find it best to use these items as a visual when shopping at flea markets or second-hand stores. You can almost always find something unique for a more affordable price. It's also more eco-friendly :)
