You know those businesses out there that started off as an amazing idea you wish you had thought of first? For me, Homepolish is one of those ideas. It is an interior design service at a price that fits your budget. It was originally exclusive to New York, but has now made its way to Los Angeles. Every space they create is beautiful and unique, with each one having a different designer and client collaboration.
I was tempted to use Homepolish when I moved into my own apartment a few months ago, but it was my first real stab at interior design so I decided to try it out myself. However, I started to go through the process of setting up an initial consultation before changing my mind, and I have no doubt that the seamlessness of that experience reflected what it would have been like to actually work with one of their designers. These are the three easy steps it takes to work with Homepolish and some of my favorite "after" shots that I've seen from their social media.
{ Step 1 }
You fill out a survey about the space you're decorating, how much you want to spend, and the look you're going for; "your ultimate dream space" as Homepolish puts it. They make it clear they can help you no matter how big or small the project. The goal of this is to pair you up with the best designer to perfectly execute everything you envision.
{ Step 2 }
Next you have a 1-hour consultation with your designer at your home, office, or whatever space you are planning on re-decorating and you both talk about specifics. Homepolish wants to make sure there is a clear, open line of communication between you and your designer. If you don't like your designer for whatever reason you can ask for them to be switched with someone else for no extra charge. The initial consultation starts at $50 and can cost up to $80.
{ Step 3 }
If you decide to commit after the consultation, moving forward you buy time with your designer. Junior designers cost $100/hour and Senior designers cost $130/hour and you choose between two different package options:
A Single Day- pay by the day
The Design Package- pay by the hour with a minimum purchase of ten hours
For those who aren't naturally inclined and looking for affordable help in designing your own space, I highly recommend giving Homepolish a try!
