Wedding Gowns

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a nice weekend and feel rejuvenated for the week ahead.  The wedding we have been working hard in preparation for is on Wednesday so we are finishing up the last few details big and small, one of which being the bride's shoes she will be walking down the aisle in...you know, no biggie. We've bought options upon options but to no avail, none have been the right ones.  Of course we want her to be in the shoes she is most comfortable with, so I just hope we find those in the next two and a half days. Yikes!

Since I'm in such a wedding mood, I thought I would share some of my favorite bridal gowns.  They range from classic, elegant styles to more edgy and boho ones.  There are also quite a few separates which is a style I fell in love with almost immediately after first seeing it a while back, so I had to include some on this list.  These are the gowns I love, in no particular order.

This BHLDN gown is a perfect wedding dress in my opinion.  It's just so
beautiful and classic. Can't go wrong with this one!

{ two }
Couldn't give you a list without one screenshot! This Nicole Miller gown is made for a woman's figure. The low v-back, strap detail, and perfect length train make the dress a win-win-win.

{ three }
I can't get enough of Australian designers, especially wedding gown designers.  This one is from Grace Loves Lace and might be a little too bohemian for my taste, but if I ever decided to do a shoe-free beach wedding this would be my look.

Another great silhouette by Roberto Cavalli. My prom dress was by this designer, so I know his gowns hug my curves perfectly, even though this model's body looks nothing like mine.

I'm always open to a blush colored gown and this Grace Loves Lace separate is so ethereal and looks comfortable enough to wear for the entire event without a problem.

Another Australian designer, this Katie May Collection Princeville gown is one I keep coming back to as my favorite. When I first started looking for gowns, my goal was to find a spaghetti strap, fit to flare dress with a low back and a short to medium train.  This one fulfills every requirement.

As I'm looking at this Tara La Tour halter gown again, I might be way too short for the look but I still love it!

This gown from the Piece of My Heart collection by Belle & Bunty, is simple and a little bit dramatic which I love.  I could do a cleaner or messier hair style and the jewelry could be delicate or make more of a statement. I'm drawn to the versatility of this dress.

Houghton NYC is one of my favorite designers, this is the first of many looks from the designer on this list. I love this lacy separate because I'm not the biggest fan of my arms so a long sleeve option is always on the table.

This is the Carme dress from the Anna Maier Bridal collection.  One of many outstanding dresses by this designer.  The nude slip makes the beautifully detailed lace stand out and makes this dress perfect in every way.

I fell in love with this skirt and the simple white tank to go with it immediately.  The tans and pinks go perfectly with the color scheme I'm leaning towards for our wedding.

  This look is an absolute show stopper.  I would be more likely to wear it to the rehearsal dinner or some event prior to the wedding. The Mojave dress with the Ordos cape by Houghton NYC is literally covered in embellishments and would make me feel like a modern-day princess. The pink hair is absolutely necessary too!

I'm so happy Monique Lhuillier came out with a two-piece look because everything she creates is amazing and her Charlotte Crop Top and Tea Length Skirt is no exception.

For this silk Nili Lotan gown you really have to work your butt off at the gym to pull it off because it is anything but forgiving.  I love it because it looks so comfortable and comfort for any big event is always really important to me.  The last thing I want to be is fidgeting during my wedding. It's simplicity gives you more room to play with a fancier veil and accessories too.

{ fifteen }
Olivia Palermo's three-piece outfit was custom Carolina Herrera and looked like a wedding day look for a true lady.  I would expect nothing less from the designer or the trendsetter herself.  Her deep-blue Manolos and simple hair and makeup made the look feel polished and absolutely stunning. The outfit below Olivia's look is by Houghton NYC.  The Mcdowel top and Macabeau skirt are paired perfectly and give a similar take on the long sleeve, high-low skirt look.

This is Rime Arodaky, one of my favorite bridal designers. It was difficult to choose just one dress from the collection because I want every single one and perfect bleached hair like the model, but my hair will be forever angry at me.  These are a couple photos of the Lavender Lace Trimmed Crepe Gown.

This is the Beatrix gown by Houghton NYC. I love it because it's so effortlessly chic and low maintenance. The floral appliqué is placed perfectly throughout the gown.  Definitely one of my favorites.

This Lanvin dress costs a pretty penny, but it's still nice to look at and dream about.  The delicate ivory lace and tiered skirt give the piece its unique look and if you can throw down a cool 21k for it, I don't know what's stopping you.

Another look from Houghton NYC's Spring collection. This is the Chloe top, Madonna bra, and Iman skirt.  It's a winning combo that might make you feel a little too exposed because of the see-through top, but if you can pull it off, why not?

My last, but certainly not least, Houghton NYC look.  The Cheyne gown is such a sophisticated look and the open back makes it edgy enough while still feeling modest.

Which one is your favorite wedding day look?

Little Update

Hello! So I know it's been a while, but the wedding we're styling is right around the corner so things are getting crazy over here! I got to work on a Target shoot last week too, which was AMAZING! Everyone was so nice, the food was delicious, and I learned a lot so it was an all-around great experience. I also just finished the 30 days of yoga at Modo Yoga and I'm feeling great! It was exactly what I needed to get back in shape and now I'm back in the gym with a stronger ankle too, so that's great.  Jose has been training me and now I can barely walk, but being sore feels real good.  I have a little ritual of simply thanking my body after I workout and at the end of each day for allowing me to be so active, because I know the ability to do so could be gone in a heartbeat and so many people already suffer from a range of disabilities that limit their physical activity.  Being grateful for our own healthy bodies is just as important as being thankful for the other wonderful blessings in our lives.

I got to go to something really awesome last night I wanted to share with you too! I went down to the USC Colosseum to hear Bernie Sanders, a Democrat from Vermont, talk about his presidential campaign! There were over 28,000 people there and the energy in the room was palpable.  Sarah Silverman also gave a short speech, which was a nice surprise! He talked about immigration reform, #blacklivesmatter, Medicare for all, pay equity, more money for education and less spending on our criminal system.  He wants to make America better and I would really love to see him in the Oval office come January 20th, 2017.  He's always been on the right side of history too.  He marched for Civil Rights in the 60s, fought for gay marriage in the 80s, and in the early 2000s he voted against going to war in Iraq.  If you're interested in reading more about him, go to this link: berniesanders.com

Here are some screenshots I've taken the past couple weeks, I promise I'll be getting back into my regular schedule of blogging (eco-tuesdays, I miss you) very soon!
